Research Interest

Chemical and bio-processes for the development of green technology - Leaching, minerals and metals, electrochemistry, remediation of waste water, sensors, flotation and energy.

Current Research

My current research focuses on developing strategies for understanding the role of reagents in the properties of final battery precursor, fabricate laboratory scale cells using the new precursors and test the cells for performance with a view to reduce cost of the reagents while improving the quality of the battery active materials. The main objective is to improve the performance of the technology patented by Dr. R Vasant Kumar and Materials Chemistry Group to recover spent redox active pastes from lead acid battery pastes to make very active nano-structured precursors for making new batteries. The project is funded by INNOVATE UK and I am also working closely with the industrial partner Aurelius Environmental Limited (AEL).
